With the launch of Midjourney V6, users have observed substantial enhancements in how the system handles text generation.
Previous versions often needed help with coherence when generating text , but V6 demonstrates much better control and clarity in handling such prompts.
In this post, I’ll share with you 7 Tips with a Prompt Template to assist you in leveraging V6’s capabilities for producing text outputs.
Prompting Text
V6 has an enhanced ability to incorporate specific text into images. The key to prompting multiple subjects in V6 is giving Midjourney a clear semantic link between the overall scene and the individual details.
When generating images with text, getting the AI to render them clearly can be tricky. I will share with you 7 tips for prompting Midjourney to create accurate, readable typography in your images.
7 Tips When Generating Text with Midjourney V6💡
Midjourney v6 can generate some amazing text. But it’s not perfect yet. After generating hundreds of images, here are 7 tips to get the best results.
1. Enclose Text in Quotes
Place any text you want to appear in the image inside quotation marks. This signals to Midjourney to depict that specific wording.

2. Use the Raw Parameter to make Text more Prominent
Utilizing the --style raw parameter will result in greater accuracy when generating text on MidJourney V6.
This parameter instructs MidJourney to prioritize your prompt over its default style. However, images with the raw parameter are usually less artistic.
Left: no--style raw (default)
Right: --style raw

3. Use Lower Stylize Values [ --stylize ]
Lowering the --stylize values will result in larger and more accurate text, while increasing the values will make the text fancier but smaller.
However, if the values are set too high, the text may disappear.

4. Describe Font Styles
Add descriptive words like “calligraphic” or “bold” to indicate the desired font style for the text.
Prompt:
Text “Be Kind” printed in white font on the back of a denim jacket worn by a man walking down a city street --v 6 --style raw
Left: Text “Be Kind” printed in white font ….
Right: Left: Text “Be Kind” printed in white cursive font
5. Try Variations
If the text generation is incorrect initially, but you appreciate the image layout, try using strong variations of the image. You may succeed in generating the correct text in subsequent attempts.

6. Upscale An Image
If the text doesn’t generate properly at first, upscale the image use using either the Subtle or Creative for sharper results.

Right image: Upscaled ( Creative )
7. Text Incorporation Sturcture
V6 doesn’t require any special prompting, but a starter template suggested by Midjourney will help you explore what works well for multiple subjects in V6.
If you are not sure how to begin, follow this prompt structure:
Text “ Your Text” is [ written ] [ details — optional] on [ Object/things/medium ]
Use phrases like says, printed on, entitled, inscribed with, labeled as, marked with, branded with, embossed with, engraved with, stamped with, adorned with, scripted with, lettered with, etc.
You can also print text on things, such as speech bubbles, post-it notes, book covers, posters, signs, t-shirt, mugs, billboard, newspaper, magazine, greeting card, envelope, license plate, calendar, ticket, product packaging, business card, etc.
To have text or letters appear alone helps to add the phrase typography design to the prompt. You can explore using phrases isolated on a white background if you’d like the canvas to be otherwise blank.

📌 Extra Tip: It’s better to use a ratio like 3:2 or 16:9 if your text is long
Commercial Usage Prompt Structure
There is also another simple structure for commercial use like product, posters and advertisements.

Final Thoughts

Practice simple prompts first before complex images. The more examples you create, the more your text-prompting skills will improve.
